The Jason Mitchell Dead Meat Combo is the evolution of the popular Jason Mitchell Meat Stick Combo. This rod features larger guides, so anglers fishing outside will not have their line freeze to their guides. The solid fiberglass rod blank will provide a super strong backbone but has a very sensitive tip, so anglers will be able to have a strong hookset when they see their tip move with a slight bite at the end of their line. This combo features a 5+1 ball bearing reel with Clam’s SF Drag System.

28” M is a great all purpose rodI received the 28” M dead meat combo as a Christmas gift. I was initially a little worried about bite detection of a rod of that power, but I have used it on 4 different outings. I have caught fish (bluegills and crappies) ranging from 4-12”. I haven’t pulled on any true giants on it yet, so I can’t comment on that. But you can see even subtle takes from small fish. The drag is smooth, everything functions great, and the one button folding handle is a game changer for anyone using a rod locker! My only gripe is that the reel does move a touch with the provided Clam bands, but this could easily be fixed with a few twists of electrical tape.
