ROGERS, Minn. – Clam Outdoors has developed an Ice Ops branded product line for the upcoming 2023-2024 ice fishing season and has partnered with Folds of Honor. Ice-Ops is an militaristic-themed lineup of ice fishing products designed by the Clam Research and Development team. The team at Clam decided to partner with Folds of Honor to provide benefits to others.  Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of military men and women, and first responders, who have fallen or been disabled while on active duty.

“We wanted to make sure we didn't just make a cool line of product, and it is a cool line of product, but not just something with a fun logo and a militaristic feel and it didn't have any substance or follow-up behind it.” said Clam Outdoors Vice President of Sales Lucas Matzke. “It was imperative for the team at Clam to find an organization to partner with and we decided to partner with an organization (Folds of Honor) that has the ability to give back to people who have served in the military or as a first responder.” The Ice-Ops product line includes various items such as IceArmor by Clam ice fishing suits, rod & reel combos, United States of America themed Clam Pro Tackle, and more.

A portion of all Ice-Ops product sales will go directly to Folds of Honor for continued educational scholarship support for family members of the military and first responders. Folds of Honor has been responsible for awarding over 44,000 educational scholarships to military or first responder families since the foundation’s formation in 2007.

“We feel that there is no better gift you can give than the gift of education, and heaven forbid something happens to Mom or Dad while they are defending our freedoms that, we are going to take care of those families that have sacrificed so much for our daily freedoms” said Anthony Raiola, Regional Development Officer for the Minnesota Chapter for Folds of Honor. “The mission of Folds of Honor is to honor the sacrifice and educate their legacy so we provide education scholarships to the fallen and disabled service members and first responders families.”

The ice fishing industry and its consumers have historically strong ties to the armed forces. The Godfather of Ice Fishing Dave Genz, and Clam Outdoors Ambassador Jason Mitchell are both, in fact veterans of the United States military.

“The Clam Outdoors mission behind Ice-Ops is not only to provide great militaristic-themed ice fishing gear to anglers, but more importantly it is to help support hundreds of families through Folds of Honor,” says Addy Hanson, Director of Marketing for Clam Outdoors. “We are extremely excited for the Ice-Ops product launch this fall and hope to continue to grow this product line and partnership in the future.”

The Ice-Ops product line will officially be available in retail stores and online in Fall of 2023. All Ice Ops items will be branded with the Ice-Ops logo.
