Excellent with HD shuttle and XploreAt the 2025 St Paul Ice Fishing Show, Marine General had an Xplore unit displayed on an HD Innovations shuttle, my new ice unit, thus allowing me to compare the Clam bag side-by-side with the HD bag . I preferred the design, fit, and construction of Clam bag. The Clam bag has both carrying handles and a nice shoulder strap, in lieu of backpack straps. The fabric seems durable, the zippers are smooth and robust, and the body of the bag is sewn to a sturdy rubberized bottom tray. The initial quality appears excellent. My 10" Xplore fits well yet is a little snug (see pics); a 9" would fit better, but a 12" would likely be a struggle. The bag features internal straps for securing the shuttle within the bag and sizable side pockets, one of which I will probably use for storage of my AmpedOutdoors charger. Once on the ice, I will likely keep the front flap loose with pole secured on the shuttle. I may never use the zippered viewing window as designed, but it's another nice pocket option that I may use for USB cables and other slim cargo. And finally, the rear has a large zippered flap that will allow convenient access to loose coils of extra transducer cables, instead of wrapping cables around the shuttle handle, and even provides access to the Xplore cable ports. My only gripe is minor, but the blue accents of the bag are not the same as the blue of my Clam jackets and X200 Pro XT shelter, a disappointment for those of us who can get hung up on such things. Still, overall I'm very pleased with every aspect of the Clam bag and how nicely it accommodates the HD shuttle with the Xplore 10" -- I'm super-excited to take it on the ice!
